Have nine children, all grown and on their own. Nine have become wayward but two have returned and there's still those finding their way. This book gave me "hope" and "encouragement" because it deals directly with this heart breaking problem. Very good advice, sensible solutions, excellent scriptural support and unexpected spiritual insights that left me with a much less depressed attitude. I would recommend this book to those of us who are going through this and have to figure out how to deal with ALL of the many ways our children become wayward, and how to mend our own hearts/spirits as best we can.Product details

Great book - Love the new insights
Amazing how close help really is
A great book to help those of us with children that have wandered.
For those who have had little eternal perspectives given them by childhood family foundations, the eternal perspectives in this book are life changing! The light of truth cannot but accompany you, as you desire to learn from The Godhead as you read it. Thank you Brother Barkdull and all whom participated by footnotes whom let The Holy Spirit guide you in glorious truths.
This book will strengthen your testimony and faith in the Lord and His Plan of Redemption. The wickedness of this world and the specific problems and challenges we all face have not taken the Lord by surprise. From the foundation of the world He foresaw all that we face in our day and He provides ample provision to save and redeem. No one is outside the reach of the Lord and with Him nothing is impossible. To think our own sins or those of a wayward child have placed us or them outside of the Lord's ability to redeem us in our unique situations is to discount the Lord's knowledge, power and grace. This book will provide you with specific tools you can use to find peace in the midst of crushing challenges and to partner with the Lord in His redemptive work.
As a father of 7 and grandfather of 20 I wish I had seen this book before. I now have a clear picture of what is expect of me and my experience has helped me to shape my life now...I hope it is not too late.
For those parents who have struggled for years... This is such an important perspective to read. It very much changed my viewpoint as one of those parents. It offered much needed insight as one can become "lost" and overwhelmed when the years march on and the problems remain.

I own an e copy, I finished it and now it must be purchased in paper to have as a re-read. Sometimes one just needs a paper book. This is one of those books!
MUST READ!!! I am SO grateful I read this book. Before, I felt that I was an ineffective parent and being punished with many troubled souls. Now I see that I was chosen by the Lord because he trusts me to stay faithful and save not only my ancestors who have gone before, but my posterity as well. Through faithfully keeping our sacred covenants, we can save the most valiant of all of God's children. I was reminded that because of the veil, we and our children have forgotten who we are, but Satan has not. He singles out the children of the faithful to discourage us and take us from the right path. He attacks our children to break us and he finds pleasure in taking our children and thrusting them into the world where they are miserable, just as he is. Never forget, misery loves company!
I promise you if you prayerfully read this book you will come away with hope, encouragement, and energy to continue fighting the fight when you feel oh so emotionally tired. You will see that you were chosen, not punished, with these troubled souls. Stay faithful, keep the faith, trust your Father in Heaven and all will be well. Elder Jeffrey R. Holland talks about John 1427 as the commandment least obeyed by God's Saints, "Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." He reminds us that our children or other loved ones were God's first before they were ours and he has made provisions for these valiant souls who agreed to come in the last days when Satan raged in the hearts of men and when men called bad good and good bad. He loves these children and they will not be lost. God bless Brother Barkdull for sharing these eternal truths when they are in such need and God bless you in your fight, for I know He will!!!
